GTA 6 gangs
GTA 6 leaks have shown that gangs are making a return to GTA in some capacity, but will you be able to make your own gang?
There have always been gangs in some form in a GTA title, but GTA 6’s gangs could be much more detailed and intimate than any previous entry in the series.
In fact, we’re hoping that the gangs of GTA 6 will be much closer in nature and depth to the gangs of Red Dead Redemption 2, offering meaningful dialogue, storylines, and heist opportunities.
Will there be gangs in the GTA 6 story?
The first acknowledgement of gangs in GTA 6 did not come through official channels, but rather through GTA 6 leaks. Through analyzing leaked footage, strings of code, character states and so forth, the community has confirmed the presence of at least three gangs.
The three gang names discovered through leaks are:
- San 4 San
- Guardia Brothers
- Far Right Militia
However, as these gangs became known via early leaks, there is every chance that the exact details and natures of the gangs (even their names) are subject to change or the cutting room floor. We’ll likely only know if these are confirmed when the next GTA 6 trailer is released, or when the GTA 6 release date is upon us.
Will you get to form your own GTA 6 gang?
Many have drawn a parallel between the GTA 6 story main characters Lucia and Jason and the real-world criminal duo known as Bonnie and Clyde.
Given the history of Bonnie and Clyde, it is quite possible that Jason and Lucia will form their own gang, and that the player will be able to choose who joins that gang in much the same way GTA 5 allowed players to pick NPCs for their heist missions.
However, with the success of Red Dead Redemption 2’s own story, there is also a chance that the player gang (if one is implemented) will be more set in stone and detailed as RDR2’s Van Der Linde gang.
Unfortunately, little confirmation has been received as to how gangs will be implemented in the main game, at least for now.
Will GTA 6 GTA Online have gangs?
Rockstar has not confirmed the existence or continuance of GTA Online for GTA 6, though it seems beyond likely that the massively successful online version of GTA will get an update around the time of the main game’s release.
Once a GTA 6 Online mode is out, there is every chance that players will be able to form their own gangs much as they could form organizations in GTA 5’s Online mode. However, Rockstar have not confirmed anything as of yet.
