If you’re a fan of the Grand Theft Auto franchise on consoles, you’re in a better position than the poor GTA 6 PC gamers who won’t get access to the game until long after the release of the GTA 6 PS5 edition. Consoles, it seems, are always bound to enjoy some timed exclusivity, which is great news if you own a PlayStation 5.
But, when will GTA 6 pre orders become available for PS5 owners, and when will you be able to dive into the state of Leonida for yourself?

GTA 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 consoles on May 26, 2026 at 12:00am GMT+1.
With the official GTA 6 release date now confirmed following an unfortunate GTA 6 delay, we now know how much longer we have to wait before we can take the reins of Lucia and Jason. It was always certain that the game was due to arrive on PS5 consoles given the history of Rockstar releases, but less certain is the chance of a port to older consoles such as a GTA 6 PS4 or Xbox One edition.
How do I pre order GTA 6 PS5?
While you can’t currently secure a pre order, you can wishlist GTA 6 right now via the PlayStation store page. The ability to wishlist the game came as a bit of a shock, as not even GTA 6 Xbox players can do that yet on the Microsoft store, and, well, PC gamers are a long way away from their own pre orders.

How much will GTA 6 cost on PS5?
The current estimates for the GTA 6 price on consoles and PCs puts the game at around the $70 mark ($69.99 if you want to be pedantic). Of course, given that GTA 6 is due to be one of the biggest bombshell games of all time (or, at least, 2026), there is always a chance that Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive will mark the game up further.
However, all of the available clues currently indicate that GTA 6 will cost as much as any other AAA title, with premium editions of the game costing more.
For now, we will have to wait and see when GTA 6 pre orders will be available and what they will cost. So, make sure you mark the GTA 6 release date in your calendar, and check to see which GTA 6 characters have already been confirmed for this upcoming title.
