If you’re looking to boost your Gamerscore with some GTA 5 achievements, you’re in for a tough ride. Many achievements are relatively straightforward, but you’ll find a couple trophies, particularly in the GTA Online mode, are going to take much, much more trial and error than you may have bargained for.

There are a total of 77 Grand Theft Auto V achievements in the game, 50 of which are from the base game. If you succeed in earning every achievement, you’ll net your account 1750 Gamerscore.

How long does it take to earn all GTA 5 achievements?

On average, it will take you 80-100 hours to earn every achievement in GTA 5, but your mileage may vary depending on how well you play. Some players have reported taking more than 300 hours to complete their collection, and largely because some of the hardest and rarest achievements in GTA 5 require a considerable amount of practice and collaboration to achieve.

What is the rarest achievement in GTA 5?

The rarest, or perhaps hardest, achievement in all of GTA 5 is the Masterminds achievement. This achievement is set in the GTA Online mode rather than the singleplayer campaign, and requires you to flawlessly complete three Doomsday Heists without dying once. The issue? You have to complete these missions while playing with three other people. If even one of you perishes during the finale heist (you’re allowed to die during the initial setup missions), you have to start again. Worse, it must be the same three people, meaning that players who dropout mid-run will assassinate your chances of earning the Masterminds achievement.

For this very reason, most players spend a considerable amount of time practicing the Doomsday Heist with a particular group of friends or like-minded individuals. Go into a private lobby to save yourself the bother of random players joining you, and to avoid any public server issues and crashes.

Buy the Armored Kuruma car if you don’t already have it to give yourself and your teammates the maximum amount of protection while driving around. Load up on snacks to regenerate your health, and equip Super Heavy Body Armor at the earliest opportunity. Also, make sure to use Lester’s ability to remove your Wanted level at every available opportunity. Even a single death can set you back, so you can’t take any chances.

Fortunately, you don’t have to complete these missions in a single session. Your progress is saved at the end of each Setup mission, allowing you and your group to reconvene in a private server at any point to continue on.

With luck and no small amount of skill, you’ll complete all three Heists without a casualty, and earn yourself the coveted and extremely rare Masterminds achievement.

Do GTA 5 cheats turn off achievements?

Activating any GTA 5 cheats will immediately disable your ability to earn achievements. The only way to earn cheats after using a cheat or command is to revert your game to an earlier save. For this reason, it is advisable that you create a save game slot before you enter any cheats.

Rockstar Games have not included any cheats in-game that allow you to suddenly unlock all achievements. As a result, the only way you can earn all 77 trophies is to work your way through the game.
