GTA 6 PC
Rockstar has only announced plans to release GTA 6 to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025, so when is the GTA 6 PC version coming out?

When the GTA 6 trailer dropped in December 2023, I was massively excited to see a return to Vice City, but one question remained in my mind: when will Grand Theft Auto VI come to PC? With the GTA 6 release date for console set for 2025, the GTA 6 PC release might not arrive for quite some time.
Will GTA 6 release on PC?
Rockstar will almost certainly bring the game to PC. Rockstar have not officially confirmed a port of GTA 6 for PC, but it would be extremely unusual if they did not do so given every other major game release under Rockstar’s belt.
The first supporting comments, confusing as they were, to the effect of a port came from Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick on May 30, 2024 in a TC Cowen interview. In said interview, Zelnick hinted that Rockstar would likely make an announcement on the existence of a PC port “in due time” and, more cryptically, that Rockstar often followed a strict release pattern.
Nearly a year later, Strauss Zelnick heavily hinted that a PC port was happening in an IGN interview, but that Take-Two Interactive don’t always release across all platforms simultaneously. While this doesn’t give much more of an idea as to when a PC release might arrive, the hints could indicate a 2026 or 2027 release.
GTA 6 PC release date
Grand Theft Auto VI for PC is expected to arrive by 2026, roughly one year after the anticipated console release.
Every major Rockstar production in the last decade has received a PC release somewhere down the line. Red Dead Redemption 2, the last major Rockstar project, appeared on Windows devices after a year-long console-exclusive launch. GTA 5 arrived on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in September 2013, and received a PC release 14 months later in November 2014.
As such, GTA 6 will almost definitely come to PC, but after a 12-16 month-long delay.
That said, there is a small possibility that a GTA 6 PC port will arrive sooner than expected. 2025 has so far seen the release of the GTA 5 Enhanced edition, which massively updated the game’s graphics for modern hardware, even creating new GTA 5 system requirements in the process. After three long years, GTA+ membership was rolled out to PC gamers (though why it was console-exclusive for so long remains a mystery). In addition, this Enhanced Edition was added to the Xbox Store and the PC Game Pass.
This seems to be a major shift from Take-Two Interactive towards PC gaming, and could, potentially, imply a greater focus on PC audiences for GTA 6. If this is true, there is a chance – just a small one – that GTA 6 will arrive on PC earlier than anticipated. Unfortunately, this remains speculative, as hints from Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick have done little to shed light on the matter.
GTA 6 PC requirements
As the official GTA 6 release date has not yet been confirmed, it’s unsurprising that Rockstar have not published any official system requirements. Fortunately, we’ve partnered with PCGameBenchmark to develop some GTA 6 system requirements estimates based on the GTA 6 trailer footage, trends in gaming requirements, and previous Rockstar benchmarks.
