GTA 6 pre order

The release date might have been revealed, but it may be some time until we see a GTA 6 pre order and its associated special editions.

GTA 6 pre order

If you’re looking for a GTA 6 pre order, you’re a bit early to the party! With the GTA 6 release date only having been revealed in December 2023 alongside the release of the first GTA 6 trailer, it’s unlikely that a GTA 6 pre order will be available for several more months. That said, we can infer when pre orders will go live from past Rockstar releases. We can also take a pretty good guess at what GTA 6 preorder bonuses we might be getting thanks to Rockstar’s previous collector’s editions.

When will GTA 6 pre orders go live?

We predict that GTA 6 pre orders will be available from November 2024 at the earliest, and January 2025 at the latest, with an intial GTA 6 price tag of $70 for standard editions of the game.

More than 10 years ago, GTA 5 launched on September 17, 2013, having originally been slated for release in February 2013. Pre orders for GTA 5 weren’t available until November 5, 2012, just over one whole year after the game was initially revealed in October, 2011, and four months prior to the slated release date.

With the GTA 6 release date estimated for Q1 2025, our pre order window would give gamers anywhere between 2-4 months to pre order the game, assuming there are no GTA 6 delays on the horizon.

A few rumors have circulated online regarding the GTA 6 price being substantially higher and reaching as much as $300, but it seems far more likely, given statements made by Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick during an earnings call in 2023, that GTA 6 will cost about $70.

GTA 6 pre order bonuses

In the run-up to the GTA 5 release, numerous special editions were made available for pre order, and included the following goodies:

  • An exclusive SteelBook
  • A blueprint map of the in-game playable area
  • A boost to the main playable character’s special abilities, making their respective abilities recharge 25% faster
  • A series of stunt plane challenges
  • Bonus character customization options
  • Additional weapons, available for free at Ammunation shops, including the Pistol .50, a Bullpup Shotgun, and the Hammer melee weapon

The GTA 5 collector’s edition contained a few extra goodies, including a money bag (inspired by the game’s in-game heist missions), and several bonuses for the singleplayer campaign, and GTA Online.

However, games have come a long way since GTA 5’s 2013 release, so it is possible that GTA 6 will benefit from numerous exclusive bonuses that more recent pre orders have packaged into games.

It seems a foregone conclusion that a GTA 6 special edition pre order will provide a variety of free skins for weapons, vehicles, and possibly more. But, we believe that a pre order will also provide several days of exclusive access ahead of the proposed GTA 6 release date. This trend has been seen with a number of modern releases, including Starfield pre orders and more.

Of course, what the GTA 6 pre order will contain in full and when it will land has yet to be officially announced by Rockstar or Take-Two Interactive. Hopefully, in the coming months, more details will be revealed.

Until then, make sure to check out which GTA 6 weapons and GTA 6 vehicles were spotted in the official trailer, and see if your PC can run the GTA 6 system requirements.
